Can I just say that I’m so happy someone finally said it. I loved that you talked about how people feel this weird need to feel close to some part of a tragedy or catastrophe. On top of that, I think it’s also the inner narcissistic ego trying to wave a signal like “LOOK AT ME!” “PAY ATTENTION TO ME!” while the world is experiencing an epidemic.

I was sick for about 24 hours right before the virus was really hitting the United States. Fortunately where I live (in Las Vegas, NV), there haven’t been many confirmed cases. So, there’s no way I’m going to exclaim that I was patient 0 in Las Vegas and try to create that irresponsible narrative.
